Who we are

My wife Sophie and I have two children adopted from China. The first is Mike, he was born in Hunan on 11 January 2006 and we adopted him up in June 2007. The second is Justin, he was born in Shanxi on 10 February 2008 and he has been with us since January 2010. We also have a foster son, Rutger. Rutger was born on January 3, 2003 and since May 2004 with us.

The idea was born, but then it had to be executed. I needed a web site in different languages. Since this project is not run for profit but purely aims to help parents and children together it had to be as affordable as possible.

A suitable translator for the Chinese site I found in Cathy.
Cathy comes from China, now lives in Eindhoven and helps me completely free of charge.

The websites are created at reduced rates by Uw PC Dokter Uden, a good acquaintance of mine.

The abandonment of a baby is still illegal in China but the search for your biological children or family is not. It is also becoming more accepted in China (think of Eline Spoorloos). The fact that the sites are managed from the Netherlands can take away the last bit of fear in people from China who may wish to respond.

I also want to make it clear that this site relates only to children from China.

This site is intended for both adoptees and adoptive parents. If you as parents try to find the biological parents of your adopted child(ren) it might be advisable not to say anything (yet) to your child(ren) so you don't give them false hope.
